Choc Heaven at The Chocolate Festival in Southbank

Chocolate Festival, Southbank, Chocolate OVERLOAD!

So It can’t be Easter and I don’t write about CHOCOLATE right?

Last week I ventured down to the Real Food Market, where the Chocolate Festival was taking place. I got there at 11am, pretty much when it started and thank god because the crowds later made it quite difficult to get around!

However, we got to try some delicious samples shown below, have front row seats to see the Outside Tart demo making a divine marbled cheesecake (we will all dug into after) and visit my fave Arancini Bros, who continue to have me addicted to Arancini balls, including their chocolate one. I mean I probably went back 3 or 4 times in a day..

Anyway, it was great to see familiar faces in the chocolate industry and everyone seemed to battle well with the heat that day. Bring on the next one..!

Here are my quick snacks documenting my journey into chocolate & cake world..

Galeta- Blueberry Portuguese Tarts, soft, creamy custard tarts, with sweet blueberries

Artisan Chocolates.. BLUE easter eggs.. Delicious creamy, salted caramel bursting from the middle of these eggs

Paul A Young   Salt and Pepper Brownies.. tasted like a normal brownie to me, gooey, moist and rich,  but I was assured there are hints of salt & pepper in there.. must try it again ;)

Arancini Bro’s - Risotto Balls (well you need something savoury…amongst all the chocolate!) Crispy, melt in the middle risotto balls, with chilli sauce (add more chilli!)

What are those black balls you ask?? Chocolate Arancini Balls! Rich, risotto rice, melting milk chocolate middle, walnuts, cinnamon and spice heat, delcious on their own. BIGFAN!

Heavenly, chunky cakes from Sweet Tooth Factory… this lady’s cakes are a sure-fire hit!

Variety of cheesecake naughtiness from Sweet Tooth Factory, I tried her Nutella and Banana because well that’s me all over, was a delicious mound of cheese, crumbed biscuit base, fresh bananas and that swirl of nutella for extra decadence.

Outsider Tart- Spread of whoopies, cakes, slices, all sorts! Banana cake was so soft, fluffy and tasted amazing with surprising bits of chocolate in there.

Orangey Chocolate, Iced style, made with Oat milk, topped with fluffy coconut cream from Jaz n Juls. Could not help but dig in with my finger.

The lovely David, from Outsider Tart introducing us to making a marbled cheesecake.. It disappeared in about 2 seconds, in my stomach.

So that’s my round out for the Chocolate Festival!

Hope you all have a great Easter break, I’m off to make a tasty Mauritian recipe for a banana tart, prep for cupcake classes and find out what I’m going to conjure up with some pork mince! Any ideas are welcome ;)
