Chocolate & Orange Cream Roulade

Chocolate Roulade, Indulgent, Zesty, Orange, Festive !

Woo hoo! Less than 2 weeks till Christmas! I’m feeling rather festive this year and am looking forward to having the family over for the first time at our house since we moved in for Xmas!

So this month, I’ve been conjuring up some recipes from the kitchen! So far I’ve made mince pies, christmas sausages, camembert, festive popcorn… delectable treats for the festive season!

In honour of Chocolate Log Blog’s We Should Cocoa challenge this month hosted by Choclette is combining chocolate with orange! Two flavours that gel together so well and I fancied making a roulade after watching Queen of the baking Mary Berry make one!

So I combined these two flavours by making a light and airy chocolate sponge with orange zesty cream! It tastes like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, sweet, zingy, tart and naughty!

Adapted by Mary Berry’s Ultimate Chocolate Roulade recipe here, I didn’t use the orange segments or Grand Marnier to serve and instead dusted with icing sugar for that Christmas feel.

I would suggest using whipping cream rather than double cream for a lighter and fluffy texture! This is a great recipe, can be technical at times to ensure the sponge is correct!

So very beautifully rolled. I have a weakness for a good roulade, but I am so rubbish at rolling them. Yours looks gorgeous and I bet it tastes fantastic. Thanks for playing.
